Wide-eyed and trembling, Crucia gazes from a lost tower toward the coast of Morban. Beneath flickering pupils, her consciousness shifts between thralls, racing through preparations to retake lost ground.
It is not the whipping wind that sets her teeth chattering, her nails clawing instinctively at the blasted rock of a crumbling spire. It is the thundering heartbeat of her brother Regulos, the incessant rush and swallow of his foul blood.
She alone is afflicted by its ceaseless echoes and tormented by its gaining strength. She alone fought to conscript the Ascended and defend Telara from his return. And she alone knows what unstoppable horrors will grip the planes if the Destroyer emerges from the depths of Endless Eclipse.
In a fortress of flesh built from the long-suffering inhabitants of Dusken, the assembled generals of Death prepare to summon Regulos to Telara. Progenitor Saetos is first among them, overseeing the harvesting of viscera to fuel the Destroyer’s new body. The ancient Shaper and his creations pose a severe and sickening test to even the mightiest Ascended.
Beyond Saetos and his dark laboratory waits Frederic Kain, fallen hero of Telara and chosen conduit for the imminent ritual of rebirth. With an undead army at his command, Kain welcomes the opportunity to cross blades with any who threaten his master’s return.

In spite of Kain’s might, the Matriarch of Pestilence skitters throughout the Citadel, preparing a gruesome, writhing brood to ensnare and feed on would-be invaders. This mother of Gravemakers is second only to Dread Lord Goloch in power and determination. Goloch guards the gate to the Plane of Death, a portal connecting Telara to the edge of annihilation.
Clearing the Citadel is a feat that will be celebrated for ages … if only you survive the journey into Death itself and prevent the destruction of Telara. The hour to act is now: Regulos’s new form will be unstoppable if completed and reborn in the flesh of Kain.
Far away, Crucia shudders at the thought. Telara will be stained by the gore of a death god … or it will simply cease to exist.
